Blogger is a blogging platform but it isn't perceived to be very professional.

WordPress is the Lamborghini of blogging platforms, even though it's free. WordPress is much more flexible, professional, and modifiable than Blogger. Also - with a Blogger blog you are at the mercy of the Blogger folks. They can shut you down with no notice and for no apparent reason. (I've known people who have had that happen.) If you own your own site and hosting - you can't be shut down for no apparent reason unless you get spam complaints.

Pick between Blogger and WordPress (and please choose WP) and also have a site on Ning. The blogging sites and Ning are like apples and oranges. Ning promotes your site.

WordPress and Me: The Saga

My first WordPress blog was a long, long time ago. It was set up by a friend and I had no clue. I could not grasp the whole concept of blogs. In my defense - they were pretty new back then. Excuses, excuses!
