- I don't consider myself a writer, first and foremost. Writing articles is something I've just gotten into in the past couple of months and I enjoy it. I used to be a partner in a small press literary magazine, promoting the works of fiction writers and poetry writers. I also maintain several websites of my own. The one I have listed here is a "just for fun" site. I don't spend much time working on it anymore, but it was my first one and was created for the literary mag, so it's near and dear to my heart. It could definitely use a revamp though. It's so "Web 1.0"!
Married and divorced twice. No children by choice. Studied classical piano for eleven years, intending to make that my career. I ended up changing my studies and my degree to Theatre (acting and directing).

OK, this may not sound like very much to anyone else except me. I have a name that when entered into search engines, typically brings up a black porn star, shoes, lingerie, the opera "Carmen", pedigree dogs, etc...

Fear Of Rejection
First of all, I want everyone to know I'm really new at article writing, so this is directed at others who are also new to article writing. And if anyone is interested, my name is Carmen Black (hence, cblackink). My attempt at being clever.

It sounds like you've made a good start.
I'm finally getting over the fear of rejection - it's liberating!
I use every chance I get to tell people I know about the free teleseminars. They are so great that people choose to sign up for other paying things.
I have a lot of writer friends that I send occasional emails to about the sessions. I try not to inundate them because they are my friends.
I also have 23 articles on Ezine Articles and a couple on FreeIQ. The more you can get your name out there the better. I have a blog that I try to add to at least every 2 weeks, even if it is a few words. Blogger.com is easy and free. I put my affiliates on the blog and the end of my outgoing emails.
You will find that some people just click on them to see what they are and where thay go. Every click counts. If you can find a writers group near you, join it and exchange emails. Keep them so you have a list. Think of any of your friends who may possibly be interested in writing or marketing.
It's a little work and time, but once you get it going, it takes care of it self.
